Today, as we continue to explore the intricacies of gender, I would like to highlight the unique ability of men, which is to be visionaries in God’s Kingdom.

I’ve observed that men are predominantly visual, if I may make a generalization. They seem to get excited about what they see. And that’s not a bad thing. While the enemy and the flesh may try to pervert this vital function to gratify the self or keep men bound in sin, cultivating dreams and visions still serves an important purpose in empowering men to walk in the destiny God has called them to.

Let’s take Joseph as a case in point. Joseph was a dreamer. God gave Joseph a dream that he would be a ruler over many, yet throughout his life, he was placed in situations that seemed to offer little freedom or control. How did Joseph possibly reconcile the dreams he carried in his heart with the contradictory reality he faced every day?

Knowing this key changes everything. Let me put it this way: God’s ideas for man work in perfect harmony with man’s idea of God. Here’s the key: no matter what you’re facing, don’t give up on God! He’s not giving up on you.

Let’s face the facts, Joseph had it pretty bad. He was thrown in a pit by his own brothers. He was sold into slavery. He was falsely accused of attempted rape. He was thrown into prison for something he didn’t do. He was forgotten by the people he helped. But guess what? God was with Joseph. That one truth changes everything. Because Joseph made room for God in his life, God used everything Joseph went through to move him closer and closer to his dream.

Having a solid relationship with God is the only way you can truly walk in the fullness of all God has for you and enjoy the journey along the way! God is good all the time. Let’s say you’re in a pit right now. Don’t be dismayed. Don’t let bitterness and resentment cloud your mind. You are redeemed from every curse and God has a good plan for you. Don’t brush Him aside. Don’t hold anything back from Him. Don’t get distracted by any of the enemy’s tactics. Let God into your life and He’ll never let you go.

Application

Do you have a dream or vision for your life, but your faith is weak and the victory seems lost? Here’s the truth, if God is in the picture, you have hope. Find comfort in His presence and don’t be afraid any longer. Make a decision to trust Him with your life. Now watch Him work wonders not only in your life but also in YOU!

Prayer

Father God, I thank You for giving me the ability to dream dreams and envision those things You are calling me to. I love that You’re in my life! Not just because of what You do. It’s more than that. It’s who You are. I want to repent for all the times I’ve limited You because of my faulty perception. I invite you into my life to work wonders! In Jesus Name, Amen.
