Reflection from Previous Week

This week, many of our contributors shared their testimonies, past and present.  Whether it was Aisha’s encouragement to trust and wait on God or listening to the Holy Spirit ( as Cindy Fiddler wrote), I hope you were encouraged by their testimonies.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5, ESV)

The Bible is not short on the theme of trusting in God.  Trusting in God has much to do with an individual’s faith.  You can’t trust in someone or something when you have not placed much faith in them.  If you can’t trust in God, then it is a faith problem, and faith problems come from a lack of your relationship with God.  Let me explain.

You might have heard this statement before, “You can trust me.”  Let’s say you have placed trust in a person, but why would you place trust in that person?  Do you know them?  What do you know about them?  What makes you believe that you can trust in that person?  One would hope you placed your trust in them because you know them.  I hope you put your trust in that person because you know he or she will keep their word.  Simply put, you place your trust in a person when you know them and their credentials.

I believe trusting in God is the same.  The more we spend time with God, we grow in our faith in Him and recognize that He can be trusted.  The more distant God is from us, the less we will place our trust in Him and trust in other things.  Let us pursue God, in order that we do not fall into the trap of self-reliance and worldly wisdom but receive wisdom from above by our Wonderful Counselor, Jesus our Lord.

This Week on Starter

This week, our contributors will emphasize on the following theme, “Why healthy relationship matters?” And why unhealthy and broken relationships can impact our lives negatively?

Our Contributors

Our contributors come from various professions and stages in life. Their unique experiences in their fields will help you relate to many of the everyday issues of today. Most importantly the contributions shared from these men and women are their passion for God’s Word. It is their commitment to Christ and the church, to exemplify through their actions that allow them to bring God’s Word to readers. I hope you will find yourself “In the Word” this week. JY
