This week in Starter we are going to spend looking at the background of the book to the Romans. The goal for this week is to set you up with all the context and insights you would need to have in order to launch into this next four months of studying Romans.
Starting on the 13th with Chapter one we will dive into every single verse in the book, but this week is about stretching before we run.
I was thinking through how to get this week started, and how eloquently I was going to wow you all with my historical background on Romans, but then I saw the attached below brief survey of background material and thought you would benefit from it more than my attempt.
I encourage you to pray this morning, or evening, that God would honor your time studying His word. Pray for His promise in James 4:8a (“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you”) to be intellectually, existentially, and operationally true for you!
Pursue God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength! (Ps 73:25)
